Black-Forest-2012-WinnerAcademy Schoolbooks is delighted to announce that Jessica Robjohns, from Black Forest Primary School in South Australia, is the winner of the 2012 Academy Schoolbooks Cover Artwork Competition.

Jessica’s cover artwork was chosen because it is clear a lot of thought went into it.

A great drawing of a frog on a lily pad, saying “red-it, red-it,” sits under the title “Leap into learning” and this clever little play on words found our favour, as did the nod Jessica gave to environmental awareness by mentioning Ecosystems.

Black Forest Primary’s motto, “Growing towards the Future” signifies the school’s commitment to a wide variety of programs, including environmental education, and it’s wonderful to see this reflected in a piece of creative work.

The school is also proud of its focus on equipping students with high level literacy and numeracy skills and both these key factors are portrayed in the artwork.

For this we highly commend Jessica Robjohns on her artwork and as such, have awarded her an iPad. To accompany this, Black Forest Primary School has been awarded a PC.

Each year Academy Schoolbooks provides thousands of free exercise homework books to primary schools throughout Australia.

Although 2012 was only the second year we’ve run the cover artwork competition, a significant increase in entries made choosing a winner a very difficult decision.
